Flu for Christmas

Of all the things I wanted this Christmas, the flu was certainly not one of them.  I believe this is the first time in the history of Tawny that I have been too sick to participate in Christmas Eve or Christmas Day activities.

I do not know what the flu might be like for someone who didn’t get a flu shot, but I can tell you it is not a jolly time for someone who did have a flu shot.

While I was feeling crappy, I might could have sucked it up to go to part of Christmas Day.  My biggest concern was passing it on to my family and friends, and apparently you can do that for 5-7 days after you have your first symptoms.

You can even pass on the flu the day before you have your symptoms, according to the CDC.

If that information isn’t a valid argument for everyone getting a flu shot…

If that information isn’t enough to get you with the sore throat to stay home…

If that information isn’t enough to get you to keep your runny nose home…
