Celebrating May 2014

13th Birthday Duke

While the first few months of 2014 were challenging, there was a turnaround in April.  Things are going more smoothly than they have in many months, so I am simply enjoying each moment the best I can and keeping things in my world as simple as possible.

In my efforts to continue to simplify, I also had to move my blogging down a bit on the priority list so that I could focus on work, physical therapy, Duke, and finishing my book.  I have been working more (and so has Duke), so I do need more recuperation time.  I still compose blogs in my head, and will still be intermittently blogging, in case you have missed me.  And just so you know, I miss you too.

I had to share with the world that Duke made it to his 13th birthday officially today.  Because he is celebrating his birthday all by himself for the first time in his life, he gets to celebrate it all month.  This month also marks his 4th year anniversary working at the Homeless Emergency Project (HEP), so we have many reasons to celebrate both with and for Duke in May 2014.

If you cannot find your own reasons to celebrate the month of May for yourself, feel free to borrow my reasons and celebrate along with Duke and I!

  1. I can’t believe he’s been working for 4 years! Duke is some dog! You two are an amazing duo for sure. Happy Birthday, Dukie boy! I know your brother is celebrating with you too 😉
